Councillor P. Faulkner declared a Pecuniary Interest on the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. Councillor P. Faulkner asked for an item to be added to a future Licensing and Regulatory Committee about compliance in the town centre.

Councillor P. Faulkner left the room.

To confirm the minutes of the previous meeting

For information, Councillor J Simpson explained to the Members the reasoning why she unable to attend the last meeting.

Minutes were approved by consensus after the following amendments by the Licensing and Regulatory Committee:

To amend the apologies for absence to include apologies from Councillor J Hurrell.

To amend the sentence “the meeting was not in quorate” to “the meeting was inquorate”

The Head of Strategic Planning and Regulatory Service to submit a report on proposed revisions to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire policy, prior to formal consideration by the Rural, Economic and Environmental Affairs Committee.

The Members discussed the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Draft Policy and asked a series of questions to the Business Advisor: Licensing (Licensing and Compliance Officer). The Members requested the following amendments be made to the Policy:

Vote was unanimous.

RESOLVED that the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Draft Policy as amended by this meeting be published for consultation as set out in paragraph 11.1 of this report
