Minute L11 – Licensing Performance Report

Councillor Clay advised that she held the office of Treasurer of Friends of Asfordby Hill Primary School and was the named promoter of the School Lottery and Prize Raffles. The Performance report covered small lotteries but as this report was for noting, she had been advised she could remain in the meeting.

 

The Assistant Director for Governance and Democracy agreed with this approach.

TAXI LICENCE APPLICATION FEES 2024-25 pdf icon PDF 285 KB

To receive report on a review of taxi licence application fees.

The Head of Regulatory Services presented the report that asked the Committee to consider a 4% increase in the taxi licence fees for 2024-25. She advised that it was a small increase and was modest when compared with other Leicestershire authorities.

 

Members appreciated the clear and concise report.

 

RESOLVED That the Committee

 

(1)  Note the proposed taxi licence application fee structure as set out in appendix A;

 

(2)  Delegate authority to the Director of Growth and Regeneration, in consultation with the Committee Chair to resolve any objections received following the consultation of the proposed taxi licence application fees, for them to take effect from 1 April 2024;

 

(3)  Delegate authority to the Director of Growth and Regeneration, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder to enter into any necessary agreement with Taxiplus to support the delivery of the taxi licence application process.

The Senior Environmental Health Officer presented the report that provides Members with knowledge of the work carried out by the Licensing Team and the wider impacts and benefits of the licensing regime.
