The minutes of the meeting held on 11th June 2018 were confirmed and authorised to be signed by the chair.

The Assistant Director for Strategic Planning and Regulatory Services to submit a report to consult the committee on the proposed review of the Gambling statement of Principles.

The Assistant Director for Strategic Planning and Regulatory Services summarised their report and a brief discussion ensued.

 

It was RESOLVED that the Licensing & Regulatory Committee note the proposed revisions to the Gambling Statement of Principles at Appendix A, and approve it for Public Consultation between 13th September 2018 and 6th December 2018.

Approval of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy 2018 following consultation pdf icon PDF 63 KB

The Assistant Director for Strategic Planning and Regulatory Services to submit a report to consult the Committee on Representations received from the Consultation to the proposed revisions to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire policy, regarding special vehicle types to allow a Motor tricycle for escorted tours of the region.

The Assistant Director for Strategic Planning and Regulatory Services summarised their report and a brief discussion ensued and Members were happy with the policy. A Member mentioned it would be good for tourism.

 

Members discussed the list of consultees and mentioned that BID might be interested in being consulted. They also queried whether the MBC Town Area Committee was required to be on the list as this had been disbanded. A Member queried whether the Melton Chamber of Trade was still current, to which it was resolved it was.

 

It was RESOLVED that the Licensing & Regulatory Committee notes the Representations received and approve the proposed revisions to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy at Appendix A, subject to the deletion of Town Area Committee and addition of Melton BID as referenced above.

 

Members asked that it be noted that consideration should be given to the insertion of an age limit in the next review Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy in relation to Special vehicle – Trike Escorted tours.
