To resolve:

 

That the press and public be excluded from the meeting because the business to be transacted contains information relating to consultations or negotiations, or contemplated consultations or negotiations, in connection with any labour relations matter arising between the authority or a Minister of the Crown and employees of, or office holders under, the authority.

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy 2022 - Test Purchase Failure

To consider the evidence of a failed test purchase and the course of action to be taken.

Minutes:

The Licensing Sub-Committee received testimony from the Licensing and Compliance Officer and the dual private hire and hackney carriage driver. As a result of the evidence received the Licensing Sub-Committee determined the following.

 

RESOLVED

 

1)    That 21 points be added to the driver’s record.

2)    The dual private hire and hackney carriage driver’s license be suspend for up to two months. This suspension will end upon successful completion within that two months of the Melton Borough Council (MBC) Knowledge Test, Safeguarding Awareness Training and Disability Awareness Training (evidence must be provided to MBC’s Licensing Team).

3)    The Sub-Committee’s decision would act as a final warning in relation to failing to properly use the meter.
