Purpose of committee

The functions of this Committee are :

 

To exercise the Council’s powers and duties in respect of the provision of public transport, parking and use of the highway except the regulatory functions relating to the licensing of taxis, operators and drivers.

To exercise the Council’s powers and duties in relation to the collection and disposal of waste.

To exercise the Council’s powers and duties in relation to the promotion and improvement of the economic, social and environmental well being of the area.

To exercise the Council’s powers and duties in respect of the making of grants not falling within the delegated functions of any other committee.

To exercise general supervision and control over the Council’s domestic and commercial environmental health services.

To exercise all the functions of the Council in an emergency.

To exercise the Council’s powers and duties in relation to the Cattle Market.

To adopt the local development scheme, supplementary planning documents and the annual monitoring report.

To recommend to the Council the submission and adoption of development plan documents and the statement of community involvement and to make representations on other documents that form part of the development plan for the borough.

To consider and make all decisions relating to Neighbourhood Plans.
